Scarborogh Hospital Open Day

Scarborough Hospital is opening its doors to the public on behalf of York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to offer an exclusive insider look at some of the hospital departments.

12 September 2019, 12.00pm-3.00pm followed by the Annual General Meeting at 3.00pm
The open day will give patients and local residents the opportunity to explore areas of the hospital not normally open to the public and to find out more about the Trust’s services. It will be held on Thursday 12 September between 12.00pm-3.00pm.
There will be displays by hospital departments and behind the scenes guided tours where people can look around areas of the hospital not normally seen by the public.
Tours are being offered of the award winning Boiler House which supplies all of the hospital’s night time electricity and over 70% of its day time electricity; or discover how our arts team work use art, music and exhibitions to improve the environment of our hospitals for the benefit of our patients and visitors. Spaces are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. You can find out more and sign up for free here.
Information stands will provide an insider’s guide to some of the hospital’s more specialised services such as theatres, critical care, audiology and family health, amongst others.
What’s more, we are also offering on the day interviews for nurses.
Nurses help make the backbone of our hospital and are exactly who you want by your side during difficult times. So if you’re a registered nurse or newly qualified and would like to join our friendly, dynamic, patient focused nursing team, we’d like to offer you an ‘on the day’ interview during the open day.
Come and talk to the Recruitment team on the day, and they’ll help you find out more about what we do and the diverse opportunities available. They will also set up an interview for you while you’re there. No preparation is needed as they will go through it all with you and help you every step of the way.
The open day will be followed by the Trust’s annual general meeting at 3pm which is open to all. Here people will be able to hear more from the Trust’s chair, chief executive and directors who will present the annual report and accounts, summarising the past year and giving an overview of future plans.
